This concept was born during Scott's time as Creative Director for Design Innovation within Philips and was subsequently taken up as a new venture business outside the company.
The design challenge for the Helio 'Hub' was to create an iconic object appealing to a very wide audience, in harmony with the small consumer electronics market while incorporating 'Cradle to Cradle' (C2C) principles.

Helio offers renewable energy solutions for mainstream consumers, with a mission to accelerate the consumer decentralised renewable energy scenario.

Helio's first product is a plug-and-play solar charger for portable devices linked to a web-enabled social community. It enables consumers to easily produce some of their own clean energy and contribute to a better environment.
